2b3. Functionalities available through NPCs

Last modified date

This manual will not list every single NPC, but some are mentioned in relevant sections. This section will list most functionalities associated with NPCs.

To find an NPC ingame, open M to access the map and hover over map legends until you find the one you need. If an NPC has a function, it will be listed as [yellow text] below their name.

Mailbox: Receive and send mails (you can send a maximum of 5 mails a day. If you have unread mail in your mailbox, you can also access it from the main screen icon.

Warehouse Keeper: Access your Storage.

Storage is where you can tuck items away from your inventory, and it has a maximum of 150 slots. Any item can be put in your personal General storage.

Guild storage is where you can put in tradeable items to share with guild members. Accessibility and storage slots can be changed by the Guild Master.

Normal (Server) storage is where you can put eligible items to share with characters in the same account, and it also has 150 slots. Cash (Server) is the same but for eligible Cash items, and it has 30 slots. Eligibility for Server storage is not the same as tradeability.

Special (Server) requires a ticket to use.

Storage is only accessible in Towns through these NPCs. You can see what storage an item is eligible for in its description.

Shopkeeper: various kinds of shops where you can obtain items in exchage for gold and/or other materials.

Some Shopkeepers are available only in certain Fields, like the Priestesses of Darkness in Silver Dragon’s Force Field, and most of these Field shops sell entry tickets to certain stages. You can also sell items for (little) money and repair equipment in any Shopkeeper menu. For details on notable shops, see 6a. Game points/currencies and shops.

Blacksmith: The main place to craft and enhance equipment. The first menu item is a Shopkeeper menu (that I do not recommend buying from), and the second is where crafting and enhancing are done.

Crafting creates items in exchange for items and gold.

Enhancing will increase stats on equipment in exchange for materials and gold, and every level is denoted by +[number]. Obtaining materials and gold to enhance equipment is the main way to improve your combat efficiency on higher difficulties.

Trading House: trade items with other players for gold.

Not all items can be listed on the Trading House, and a good amount of what can be listed needs to be Seal Stamped. It also takes a listing fee that won’t be returned even if your item doesn’t sell, a commission fee when your item does sell, and payment is delivered by mail. This is half of the hub for the player economy, the other being in-person trading; though of course it presents more risks than the Trading House.

Ticket agent: Travel between towns, except Red Lotus Palace and Milla Laurel. See 4. Maps and portals for these exceptions.

Skill master: Houses Growth quest to grow Hero level, giving you extra stats after reaching max level. You can also access the Skill menu from them.
